The canvas is layered with metallic silver paint covered with a thick blend of ochre-colored pigments and composite that reveal leaves in relief. It looks as though Chad painted the leaves on - yet they are sculpted -almost three dimensional- in their relief. Chad Buck was an American artist from Utah. 1955–2013 He had a great American spirit that expressed itself through paint, texture and the love of life. I had the pleasure of meeting him and seeing his art filled home and studio set in a West Oakland neighborhood a few years before his tragic heart attack at the age of 58.
